Our Bachelor of Public Health program trains students in individual fields of biological research with a focus on understanding, preventing and treating diseases affecting large populations.

Admission Requirements

Texila American University takes pride in the students being admitted into it’s Bachelor of Public Health programs. To ensure that quality in admissions is being maintained, a stringent checklist is followed while considering if the students are capable of handling rigorous courses and training. The students are expected to meet the eligibility standards in order take up a degree in medicine and to pursue their preferred program at Texila.

For 4 years
  • At least 5 CSEC subjects are inclusive of Mathematics and English.
  • Education Gap Not More Than 10 Years
For 2 years
  •  3 Years Diploma in Public health/Allied health science/ paramedical science from a recognized university

(or)

  • A level + 2 Years Diploma in Public health/Allied health science/ paramedical science from a recognized university with 3 years of work experience in the health sector (accepted case to case)
  • Education Gap Not More Than 10 Years
For 2 years (Mode of study: Part Time / Online)
  • 3-Year Diploma in Public Health/Allied Health Science/Paramedical Science from a Recognized University.
  • Education Gap Not More Than 10 Years

(or)

  • ‘A’ Level + 2-Year Diploma in Public Health/Allied Health Science/Paramedical Science from a Recognized University with 3 Years of Work Experience in the Health Sector (Accepted Case to Case)
  • Certificate (6 months) + Diploma (1.5 Years) in Public Health/Allied Health Science/Paramedical Science from a Recognized University with 3 Years of Work Experience in the Health Sector (Accepted Case to Case)
  • Education Gap Not More Than 10 Years
For 4 years (Mode of study: Part Time / Online)

Age limit: 15 – 25 years

  • A Minimum of Five (5) Subjects of CSEC General Proficiency (At Least Grade III) or GCE ‘O’ Level (At Least Grade C). These Subjects Must Include English, Mathematics, Biology (or Human & Social Biology), and Two (2) Other Subjects.
  • ‘A’ Level (With Non-Science Subjects) and has ‘O’ Level Criteria as Above.

This can be done online or part-time on campus.

Does TAU GY have Student Platform?

Once a student is enrolled with the university, they would be given access to their student portal where they would be able to upload their personal details along with being able to upload their remittance once they make a payment. Additionally, they would have access to the ERP platform where they would be able to view all their exam grades among other things.

Does TAU Provides Scholarships and Bursaries?

Currently we do have a partial scholarship available, however, please NOTE all our tuition fees are subject to change per intake and we cannot guarantee you the scholarship available for this intake will be there for our upcoming intake. However, if in the future we have any being offered for the current intake, we would have it broadcasted on our website.

Once you are interested in pursuing studies with TAU and you have doubts or questions, feel free to reach out to one of our EAs and we would be more than happy to assist and guide you throughout the process to clear up any questions or doubts that you may have.

If I choose not to join the program, will I be refunded the Seat Deposit?

Once you enroll in one of our programs and pay your SD and then decide to cancel your application, you would need to send an email to your EA requesting to have your application cancelled and a refund will be issued for your Seat Deposit.

Further Study Opportunities

Upon graduating from the Bachelor of Public Health program, one can opt to further their academic knowledge by pursuing a Master of Public Health.
